Join Us for a Training Session on refugee resettlement process

Please come join us on Friday, September 21 from 430-6pm at the AltCity Center in Hamra as IRAP’s Director, Becca Heller, will conduct a training session on the refugee resettlement process and IRAP’s work in Lebanon.

IRAP is an American NGO which assists Iraqi refugees as they navigate the resettlement process at UNHCR and subsequent resettlement countries’ governments.  IRAP organizes law students and attorneys to provide legal representation to those who have none.  In addition, we also work closely with local and international NGOs in order to better inform them of the logistics of the resettlement process, so that in turn, they can better provide guidance to refugee populations.  We heavily rely on NGOs to refer urgent cases to us in need of legal help with the resettlement process.  Although our focus is Iraqi refugees, we will consider representing any refugee in need if our capacity allows for it.
The training session will cover the ins and outs of the resettlement process.  However, if there are any specific topics you would like addressed in the session, please let me know beforehand so we can make sure to address your questions during the presentation.  Finally, please feel free to invite any and all co-workers and friends who work or have an interest in the refugee resettlement process.

The training session will be held at the new AltCity Center on Hamra Street:
